Mini update (recovering from my heart procedure)

I’m currently sat on my sofa watching my husband do some gardening. I’m feeling quite fidgety, as I’m not someone who easily rests. It’s a beautiful sunny day, so I’m normally the girl who’s outside wearing her walking shoes exploring!

I’m thankful to say the procedure appears to have been a success. According to my doctor the procedure was “uncomplicated” and he was very happy to let me go home and rest. I will be creating more content further down the line, as right now I’m still processing everything, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has every said a prayer for me, or read my blogs where I’ve shared my health journey. I started this blog, as I realised I couldn’t be the only one facing challenges in my life, and I didn’t want others to be isolated and lonely in their struggles.

Here’s some pictures from the hospital (I’ve got to admit I’ve looked and felt better!).

I don’t have much else to say, as right now I’m doing my best to focus on my recovery. However I will end with some numbers which I think are pretty incredible!

2017 – my heart rate increased to nearly 200 bpm

2018 – my heart rate was nearly 250 bpm

2023 – I was experiencing dizziness and high blood pressure (usually 135/85)

2025 (post procedure)

My blood pressure is 105/72 and my heart beat is between 55 – 65 bpm.

I think it’s safe to say the stent has done it’s job, and I can’t wait to live in a healthier body.

I’m Helen

Welcome to my blog, where I share Biblical truths every week. I really love writing about relationships, especially marriage. But you will also find tips on health, family and growing a strong faith. I love to use my own personal stories to share encouragement, as I believe transparency and honesty makes everyone feel “normal” and part of a community together.
